He was just watching his show. I guess we both just needed to relax.

One of Those Days
Well, Jackson hasn't been his usual happy-go-lucky self lately and it has taken a toll on both of us. He has a cold/cough, ear infection, and is getting his four top teeth(finally). Well, today after multiple tantrums and just all around grouchiness I decided to give him some alone time. I was doing something upstairs and came down to find this...

S. A. D.
So I have diagnosed myself with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Otherwise known as the winter blues. I am so done with the snow, cold weather, and being cooped up indoors. Mr. Groundhog said that we still have a few more months of this winter wonderland so I decided that if you can't beat 'em then join 'em. So Mark and I headed for the slopes.
In my younger years I was quite the skier (what else do you do in Huntsville?) and thoroughly enjoyed the winter months and communing with nature. So, Saturday morning we dawned layer upon layer of our winter appearal and dusted off the ol' boots and headed up.
I have to admit skiing just doesn't have the appeal that it once did. Don't get me wrong it was a fun day with the hubby but I think I am getting old. My legs burned after only a few runs, I was chilled to the bone, and I was more excited for lunch than the afternoon of skiing. Oh well. Pray for Spring.

Look at happy couple communing with nature.
Mark wanted me to get a good action shot but he wasn't actally moving in this picture. Good acting though.

Picture of the Week
Photo by the handsome Trevor Roberts
This picture was taken at the mouth of Ogden Canyon. I never really appreciated how beautiful it was when I lived in "the valley" and drove by it almost daily. I fact I was mildly annoyed when people would slow down to get a better look and think, "Dumb city folk. Haven't you seen ice before?"
Now that I am so much wiser and mature (ya right) I can truly appreciate it.

Baby Bentley
Lindsey and Brady's sweet girl was born on Valentines Day and after 17 hours of labor and finally a C-section. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20.5 inches. She is so cute and we are so excited to have her here.

Death Wish?
So, I just signed up for a sprint triathlon and the anxiety has already set in. My soccer friends talked me into it with the reassurance that "it's not that bad". Okay, not that bad IF you know how to swim, are not scared to death of pedal clips on a road bike, and run more than up and down a soccer field. I unfortunately can not answer to the affirmative to any of those qualifications. I have three short months to perfect all of these skills like my life depends on it, because it literally does. Do they have lifeguards at triathlons?
I don't see any water wings in this mass of skilled athletes. Are they looked down upon?
Notice how comfortble she is in her clips. She doesn't looks like her 1 inch tires are going to skid out from beneath her and she will be helpless to stop herself from skidding across the pavement because she can't figure out how to get out of the pedals. No not her.
I wonder if one piece multisport suits come in a floral print?

Another Project
Everyone is posting fun pictures of their great outdoor adventures, of which I have none, so I thought I would let you know what is going on inside. Because of the massive amounts of moisture(Mark hates that word) we have received this winter I have spent a lot of time indoors and subsequently a lot of time staring at the inside of my home. Every weekend I chalk up another to do around the house for Mark. I of course help to the best of my abilities but that doesn't get us too far. This is all done in the name of beautifying my surroundings so that I don't go crazy staring at the same walls all winter.
He had just completed the entryway so I thought, "Hey, lets slap some tile up in the kitchen. And while you are at it a nice mosaic would be perfect behind the stove." Mark's response was, "Of course. You stay home with Jackson and that entitles you to whatever your heart desires. You don't get nearly enough recognition or praise." Something like that anyway. Heaven forbid we allow the grout to dry on one project before starting another.
I made Mark pose in front of his handy work. What a weekend warrior.
