Any Takers?

Yesterday I was perusing the weekly coupon mailer with its usual assortment of twofers on pizza and teeth whitening when I came across an add for this gem.

That's right. No need to travel to the land of the leprechaun to achieve Riverdance greatness you can get professional training right in your hometown. They have adult classes AND the first class is free, with in add coupon of course.
Enrollment in the classes comes with this promise:
Learning Irish dance not only builds physical strength and muscle coordination, but it also teaches students how to focus, listen and follow directions. A few other advantages to learning Irish dance are; more flexibility, teaches quick thinking and concentration, increased memory function, balance, posture, and of course building life-long friendships while having fun!
Wow, that is more than I got out my entire elementary education.

I imagine the course syllabus would read something like this:

Week 1
Don't smile, move legs at warp speed.

Week 2
Don't smile, move legs at warp speed, jump.

Week 3
Don't smile, move legs at warp speed, jump, jump.

and so on...

So, seriously I have always wanted to be the Riverdance princess. My family has endured my living room performances over the years and I'm sure will vouch for my natural Irish talent. So anyone want to join me? Christopher? Erin?

The only thing I would want to get out of the class is how to have better posture. No slumpers in those dance lines!

All i can think of when i hear 'riverdance' is Thriller. Have you seen it? They shoot all the dancers one by one as they dance. It's totally creepy!! Sorry if i ruined your dream, but hey maybe you could take the class and then star in Thriller next year!?!?

My mom has a St. Patrick's party every year. I will tell her that I have the entertainment booked. So you better get practicing.

I think you need to choose. Your dream aspirations are getting too complicated. Irish folk dancer or Cheerleader? My opinion? You would make a beautiful Riverdance princess, but would have to give up the pom poms...you're right. This is too hard. You don't need to choose.

Amy, I have always wanted to be in Riverdance, but not as a dancer (these stubby legs are good for nothing) but as one of those singers with the cool accents. When you start taking classes will you ask about Irish impersonation voice lessons? Do you think you get those free for signing up?
